Kirsty and Aaron’s wedding day arrived and it was not a moment to soon! We had been looking forward to it for ages and had got really excited after their love shoot a few weeks before. They were getting married at Cranborne Church and then having their wedding reception at Sopley Mill Nr Christchurch.
There had been a fair amount of planning for us to do as we had 4 venues to visit during the day with very tight time schedules. All our equipment had been tested and packed the night before, including our new fun booth! Everything checked out a OK including our back up cameras so we were good to go!
We met Aaron and his grooms men for bacon sandwiches bright and early and then it was off to Kirsty’s parent’s beautiful cottage for the bridal preparations. The cottage has the most wonderful gardens and the blossom was just coming out on the apple trees, so we decided to take the opportunity to shoot the dresses outside (we love hanging dresses in trees!). Next it was off to the church for the ceremony and just in time to capture Kirsty and her wonderful family arriving in a camper van!
After the ceremony we had just a few minutes to arrange some group photos and then it was off to Sopley Mill for the reception.
It’s not every day you get to take a trip in a vintage camper so I really wanted to be sure that the couple had some wonderful images to help them remember the trip. So after some arm twisting (I always get my way ;o) ) the driver agreed to my route through the countryside so I could organise some cool shots whilst K&A drank champagne on board!
Aaron’s father Simon is amazing at restoring vintage cars, he always has a selection at home! So he lent a beautiful MG to the boys for the day.
At the mill we continued capturing the proceedings as well as organising some fun images with the classic cars.
I noticed during the wedding breakfast there were wild horses and ponies in the fields next to Sopley Mill, So we took the opportunity to shoot some beautiful landscapes of the mill with the horses in the foreground, they were in a playful mood and I recon they must have known it was a wedding!
The day ended with a great band and our fun booth.
It’s impossible to be able to show you all of the images but here are a selection from our work. I know it’s going to make a wonderful Story Book when it’s all completed.
