St Giles House Wedding Dorset
It was a bright summers morning as we made our way along the winding roads of Dorset until we found the little sign tucked in the hedgerow that read, St Giles house wedding this way! Ellie & Michael had planned to have an outside ceremony and this wedding was set to be stylish & lots of fun.
If you’ve not been following us, we’re Wayne & Liz, we’re Dorset wedding photographers and we love creative and fun weddings!
This was to be St Giles House first ever outside lawn & garden wedding and of course like all of our weddings we were very flattered to be asked to photograph it.
It highlights how flexible Dorset Wedding Registration Service were on the day to be able to accommodate this outdoor event.
(If you’re not aware the legal side of a wedding has to be finalised undercover in an officially registered room.) To meet this requirement the formal parts (signing of the register etc) were completed inside the house at the end of the ceremony.
Ellie & Michael had spent many months planning this wedding and on day the weather was just perfect for them. But what if it was too windy or raining? Well in the event of less favourable weather conditions the ceremony would have been held inside.
St Giles House has many large and beautiful rooms, it’s a magical building so this would have been no problem, I am confident the wedding would have been equally beautiful!
Ellie and her bridesmaids were getting ready in the bridal suite located on the top floor of the main house. The room is spectacular with exposed brick work and is wonderfully shabby chic!
Michael and his groomsmen were getting ready in the stable block. The Stables have been converted into a number of rooms that guests can stay in overnight. The conversion is pretty amazing and the rooms have loads of character.
We loved photographing this beautiful wedding at St Giles House, even though it’s very local to us it seemed like a magical wonderland! The photographic opportunities are endless.
We can’t wait to shoot there again.
