Oxford Wedding Drenched in Romance – Part 2

Well the big day was finally here. The day of Kit & Kate’s wedding at Friars Court in Clanfield, Oxford.  We had covered bridal preparations in the morning at Goodlake Barns in Shellingford (You can see the preparations in Part 1 here).

Friars Court is such a beautiful location for a wedding.  The grounds are surrounded by a moat and there are large lawns as well as secret gardens to lose yourself in!

The weather was overcast during the morning’s preparations and it looked like the ceremony would have to take place inside but during the morning the weather brightened up and a last minute decision was made to have the ceremony out on the lawn as originally planned.  We were delighted at the news because we had been really looking forward to making some beautiful images in the gardens.

After a lovely ceremony there was plenty of time for drinks on the lawn and to arrange some family group pictures before the spectacular afternoon tea in the marquee at 4pm.  A 1920’s styled afternoon tea was served and having eaten the sandwiches and drunk champagne everyone was primed for the speeches!

After the very entertaining speeches we had an hour or so to arrange some fun pictures and of course our classic but informal bride and groom portraits.

Kate had told me during their Love Shoot that they had been lent a convertible Morris Minor for the day. Now as everyone knows if you give me a toy like that I will make the most of it. So needless to say we had the time of our lives shooting with it in the afternoon – I will never grow up ;o)

The day ended with a band and the lighting of the barbecue as Kate & Kit met up with more of their evening guests.  With just the right amount of time to capture their first dance before it was time for us to leave.
