It was such a great feeling to be finally shooting Alex and Sophie’s wedding at the Eastclose Hotel in Christchurch. We had met them for the first time many months before and also on their Love Shoot to catch up on the latest plans, but nothing beats turning up on the morning of the day and seeing friendly faces with big smiles.
We are often booked by creative people who know alot about photography and appreciate the difference in our work. Alex is a professional musician and he covers a lot of weddings so he knew the importance of quality & skill when it came to booking a photographer. Naturally we were very pleased to be asked to photograph their special day.
Their colour theme was subtle dusky pink and gold and with Autumn colours outside I really wanted post production and lighting to bind this all together subtly so the finished work was not only acurate but also an atmospheric story of their day.
After a beautiful ceremony the weather looked like it would close in so I moved their portrait images forward and shot them 15 minutes after the ceremony – thankfully I did as we just managed to get our images completed before it started to rain.
Alex & Sophie had a wonderful reception and evening. We covered the whole day so it’s really hard to choose from several hundred beautiful images but here are a small selection from our work on the day.
