Dorset Marquee Farm Wedding
Aaron & Jess booked us early last year to be their wedding photographers. We love country marquee weddings and just like barn weddings they really suit our relaxed and subtle style. So when we heard their plans we knew it would be just up our street!
Jess and Aaron had put an awful lot of work into their big day, and as always we wanted to be sure to capture all the small things that are easily missed as well as the captured moments that we are so well known for. Planning is an essential part of this process. We want things to run smoothly with absolutely no drama so we plan out the whole day in advance and this enables us to concentrate on the important things on the day. It also identifies potential timing problems early before they occur. So we are as much wedding planners as photographers keeping close eye on times and making sure things run smoothly!
Jess was getting ready at the Grosvenor Hotel at Shaftesbury while Aaron and his grooms men got ready at home which was close by. They tied the knot at the beautiful St Michaels Church at Mere. Then it was off to a their friends local Farm for the reception in a beautiful Marquee. The Farm had wonderful views across the dorset country side. With regard to timings it’s worth considering that we are traveling to at least 4 different locations with parking restrictions often with just minutes to spare so it’s easy to understand why panning out the day is very important.
The catering was provided by The Tickled Pig who are local to us in Wimborne. They never fail to be brilliant hosts and the food was excellent.
We had been looking forward to Jess and Aaron’s wedding for over 12 months it was a wonderful day and the time went so fast. We really can’t wait to see their faces when they open their Lawes Photography Story Book, it’s going to be a very special heirloom to keep the memories alive and for everyone to share forever.
Here is a very small selection of our work from the day.
