Christchurch Harbour Hotel Wedding
I remember the phone call from Chris and Cindy when Chris asked us if we were free to create their wedding photography. It was a late booking for this year and it’s always really disappointing when we are booked already. But this time we were not! Chris’s excitement was palpable on the phone and he booked us on the spot. Chris is a keen photographer and Cindy is very creative so we were excited to meet them both and hear all about their plans for the wedding at Christchurch Harbour Hotel.
Fast forward to the big day and the weather was bright and sunny in the morning. We had checked the tide times for Christchurch the week before and knew that we had to shoot our landscape images first thing before the tide goes out – and by 1 pm sure enough the tide had gone out and the weather was more overcast so it just goes to show you make your own luck ;o)
After a wonderful ceremony we all headed for the beach. Cindy wanted some of our classic beach shots which, of course, is just up our street! The beach is just 5 mins away from the hotel so it was easy to fit into the days itinerary.
After a fab time at the beach – (the pictures are just wonderful I have included a few below) we all headed back to the hotel for a South African style braai.
The Hotel has a really cute blue cash bar on the decking and I figured that as a guy you just can’t get any closer to heaven than being served cool beers by Cindy and her beautiful bridesmaids. Cindy is such great laugh – she agreed “as long as they did not get used to it LOL”, anyway it was a big hit with the guests and no surprise they were the best served beers ever but service was slow as Chris got special treatment ! – see the photos below.
I must mention the outstanding quality of service and food provided by the Christchurch Harbour Hotel. Have a look at the AMAZING profiterole tower made by the very talanted Normandy chef Charles. Another special mention to Chris for being so attentive and looking after us all so well, it’s is a pleasure so see such good service and care, I cannot recommend the these guys enough it really was that good.
So after a Fab Barbecue we had time for some more fun pictures and then it was downstairs for more drinks and to enjoy Cindy & Chris’s brilliant first dance and our crazy Fun Booth. What a wonderful day!
Here are a few images from our work. It’s always really hard to select images to blog, all I can say is that we’re really looking forward to handing over Cindy and Chris’s Wedding story book I know it’s going to be amazing!
