Just finished editing some of the pictures we took at Gemma and Martin’s wedding which was held in The Temple of Apollo at the beautiful Stourhead Gardens, Nr Mere in Somerset. Their’s was a small wedding with immediate family only and their dog, Jaz.
Although the day started with slight rain, this soon cleared and the beauty of the gardens in spring could be seen as the sun broke through. It doesn’t matter what time of year you visit Stourhead, the gardens are wonderful and April is no exception with the flowering Rhododendrons and the blossom on the trees. As Gemma was getting ready in the resident hotel, The Spread Eagle, with her family, we took the opportunity to take some landscape shots of the gardens for their wedding story book.
Gemma & Martin wanted to incorporate all the things they love into their wedding, the flowers were Gemma’s favourite, beautiful bright sunflowers which adorned the Temple and the steps, and Martin wanted his classic Austin Allegro car to feature in the day (even though the clutch had just gone and it could not be moved from where he had parked it earlier in the day!). I must admit, I have never seen such swanky shoes on a groom either!
After a lovely ceremony and a short walk around the grounds with Gemma & Martin capturing some fine art pictures, we left them to enjoy their Wedding Breakfast and the rest of their evening with the family.
