We first met Russell & Claire when we were shooting Rhiannon & Rob’s wedding last year. We were absolutely delighted when they asked us to cover their wedding at Chiddingstone Castle in Kent the following year.
Time flies and here we are on the big day! I had spent some time with Liz planning the day and when we woke up in a Travel Inn in Kent we could not wait to get to work. My mind was buzzing with loads of ideas, most of which were on paper mood boards but with often just minutes/seconds to get them recorded exactly as you want them its a real challenge and most have to be in your mind with complex fast moving photography.
Claire was getting ready at Hotel du Vin in Tunbridge Wells whilst Russell was having to put up with getting ready at Chiddingstone Castle!
As I sit here typing I could go on all day about Claire & Russell’s wedding day they are such great people and their friends were FAB. But I just can’t decide whether the amazing food, the great company, the trip on the vintage route master bus with their mates or the amazing thunderstorm and lighting display was the high point. Well from a photographic point of view snapping the lighting in the rain ( thanks for the umbrella duty Liz! ) was quite a challenge but I recon for me when all said and done Claire & Russell’s big hug at the end of the ceremony, well that says it all.
