It was a very a beautiful but very hot day for Michelle & Ricky’s wedding at the Annabelle hotel in Paphos, Cyprus. We were up bright and early because I had organised an early morning tennis match and pool shoot for Ricky and his grooms men. It’s a very cool way to start your wedding day but also compliments the Spa Shoot and Michelle’s hen party shoot we had covered earlier in the week!
I like to shoot a few frames before any big event, it warms me up & checks my favourite camera is working smoothly. These are minor things I know but the process frees my mind and allows me to see more creatively, it also takes a few milliseconds off my response time.
This is important when your organising complex multi location shoots and compositions. It’s the difference between capturing not only these fleeting moments but also having the mental space to spin around and shoot everyone’s responses at the same time.
We were both covering the wedding day so Liz was shooting as well – you will not be able to tell who has shot what because she now shoots identically to me and, of course, when we’re shooting our story books we plan many of the pictures in advance.
So here is a very small selection of work from their wonderful wedding day. I am quitely confident that it’s some of the best, if not the best, wedding work created in Cyprus but more importantly, Michelle and Ricky have the most beautiful images to remember for the rest of their lives and that’s what’s most important to us!
